GridSpace license terms

Effective 2 November 2026. These terms cover GridSpace: Desktop Organizer for Windows (“GridSpace”), made by Milner Asset Management LLC (“we”, “us”). By installing or using GridSpace you agree to them.

1. Your license

  • Trial. You may use GridSpace free for 14 days from first run with every feature available. After that, Organize, new Spaces, new tabs and automatic sorting need a license key; your Spaces keep showing your files, and nothing on your Desktop is changed.
  • Purchased copy. A license key bought from MilnerAM.com lets you install and use GridSpace on up to three Windows PCs that you personally use, for as long as you like, with all updates to version 1.x included. You can free a slot at any time with Deactivate this PC in GridSpace.
  • Steam copy. If you bought GridSpace on Steam, your use is covered by the Steam Subscriber Agreement and you may run it on any PC signed in to your Steam account.
  • Businesses. One key is for one person. For a shared or company PC, buy one key per PC, or contact us for a business arrangement.

2. What you may not do

  • Share, sell, rent or publish your license key, or use one key for more people than allowed above.
  • Remove or work around the trial or license checks, or redistribute GridSpace or modified versions of it.
  • Reverse engineer or decompile GridSpace except where the law expressly allows it.

3. Your files

GridSpace shows files that live on your Desktop and never moves, uploads or deletes them on its own. Deletions you ask for go to the Recycle Bin after a confirmation. You stay responsible for your own files and backups.

4. Updates

GridSpace can check for and download updates from our server. You can turn automatic checks off in its settings. We may release new major versions (2.0 and later) as separate products.

5. Ownership

GridSpace is owned by Milner Asset Management LLC and protected by copyright. You are buying a license to use it, not the software itself. GridSpace includes open-source components (the .NET runtime, Velopack, Facepunch.Steamworks) used under their own licenses, which are reproduced in the installation folder.

6. Privacy

What GridSpace sends and when is described in the GridSpace privacy policy at milneram.com/gridspace/privacy. In short: no account, no analytics; only update checks, feedback you send, and license activation.

7. Refunds

See the refund policy at milneram.com/gridspace/refunds. In short: try the free trial first; if a purchased copy does not work on your PC, contact us within 14 days of purchase for a refund, and the key is then deactivated.

8. No warranty

GridSpace is provided “as is”. We work hard to make it reliable, but we cannot promise it will be free of errors or suit every setup, and we do not give any warranty beyond what the law requires in your country.

9. Limit of liability

To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for anything arising from GridSpace is limited to the amount you paid for it, and we are not liable for indirect losses such as lost data, lost profits or lost time. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

10. Ending the license

You can stop using GridSpace and uninstall it at any time; uninstalling restores your normal desktop icons. We may end your license if you break these terms, in which case you must uninstall GridSpace. Sections 5, 8 and 9 survive.

11. General

These terms are governed by the laws of North Carolina, United States. If a part of these terms is found unenforceable the rest still applies. These terms are the whole agreement between you and us about GridSpace.
